Kura Haumanu is a full-day workshop designed to equip individuals, whānau, and organisations with the tools needed to revitalise te reo Māori in their own lives and communities. Our language revitalisation experts and skilled facilitators will guide you through practical language planning, dialect exploration, and case study discussions.

Kura Haumanu offers a hands-on approach to sustaining our reo for future generations by helping you craft a strategic and tailored Māori language plan, regardless of your proficiency level in te reo Māori.

  • Kura Haumanu is a one-day workshop guided by te reo Māori experts who will help you design and build an actionable language plan, whatever the level of your te reo proficiency.

  • Registrations are open to: 

    Anyone who wants to build and develop their te reo knowledge and implement a plan to revitalise Māori language.

    Due to limited space of participants, on receipt Kura Haumanu will confirm your enrolment. If we exceed the amount of spaces and we are able to keep your information for our records if any spaces become available, and for any similar kaupapa offered by Kura Haumanu.

  • The cost for the one-day workshop is $490 (excl GST) for individuals.

    This one-day workshop has been designed for individuals and organisations who want to grasp the core principles of language planning.

    Presentations: Dr. Jeremy Tātere MacLeod will share dialect, policy, and revitalisation insights to help consolidate your learning.

    Interactive activities including refining & sharing language plans.

    Q and A reflections share your thoughts, ideas and ask any burning questions to cement your learning.
